WINE AND DINE
There are a good number of bars and restaurants in St. Julian’s offering a variety of cuisines and atmospheres.
The Maltese cuisine is generally a Mediterranean diet consisting of meats and seafood, pasta and pizza, salads and rice based dishes.
One can try out many of the typical Maltese dishes such as rabbit stew, fish pie and timpana, which is a baked macaroni dish. However, one of the most popular snacks are called pastizzi. These are delicious pastries filled with warm ricotta cheese or mushy peas. Finally, why not have a glass of Kinnie, Malta’s very own soft drink.
ENTERTAINMENT
St. Julian’s is a popular seaside town located within walking distance from the school, where one can find many things to see and do. Activities such as watching a movie at the cinema, bowling, shopping, swimming at St. George’s Bay or dancing the night away are just a few things you can experience.
There is also a beautiful promenade that runs from St. Julian’s to Sliema. Whatever you decide, there is something that appeals to all ages.
SPINOLA BAY
Spinola Bay is one of the most romantic bays in Malta where one can enjoy a number of typical Maltese townhouses decorated with traditional windows, as well as arched boathouses on the quay. During the evening, the street lights reflect on the calm sea that is full of quaint fishermen’s boats.
You can also take a picture at the Love monument. This modern structure constructed out of Travertine was built with the intention that the word “LOVE” would be reflected in the calm waters of Spinola bay. Finally, you can go on a romantic boat trip. These ‘love’ boats take you and your loved one on a romantic cruise around Spinola and Balluta bay. It’s a perfect opportunity to capture the beauty of all the surroundings.
