Following an independent evaluation, UK NARIC has found the NCUK International Foundation Year comparable to:
• GCE A Level, UK
• Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), Hong Kong
• Advanced Placement, USA
• Senior Secondary School Certificate of Education, Australia
*When a minimum of grade D is achieved for all IFY modules and at least 72 points for the subjects have been achieved.
NCUK previously undertook a benchmarking exercise with UK NARIC in 2014 and is now delighted to add the HKDSE qualification as comparable to the International Foundation Year.
UK NARIC is the designated national agency for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and it performs this official function on behalf of the UK Government.
This independent evaluation performed by UK NARIC reinforces the academic strength and quality of NCUK qualifications which are formally recognised and accepted by leading universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and the Caribbean; it provides students with access to thousands of degree courses.
Emma Dawkins, Academic Director for NCUK says:
“NARIC’s recognition of the NCUK IFY as comparable to globally recognised and regulated national qualifications confirms the quality and rigour associated with our leading pathway programme. It provides reassurance to learners, parents, sponsors and delivery partners that NCUK continues to deliver world-class university preparatory qualifications, designed by universities, for international students to succeed at leading universities around the world.”
The strength of NCUK qualifications is also reinforced with its Evidencing Success Report, showing that NCUK students perform consistently well at university with 90% of NCUK students getting into their first-choice university and 80% of students progressing to achieve a first or second-class degree whilst at university. As well as benefitting from the exceptional quality of NCUK qualifications, NCUK students are also supported and counselled through the entire university application process by NCUK’s University Admissions and Placement service.
