What happens if there is a case of a COVID-19 positive student at the school?

If a student tests positive those people who have been in close contact with the student will receive a mandatory quarantine order issued by the local Health Department. Such students will only be allowed to return to school once their mandatory quarantine has officially ended. The school management will contact the tracing department within the Health Authorities to seek necessary guidance in terms of steps that students should follow.

How will the management ensure the safety of students and staff at the school?

The school is following guidelines issued by the local Health Department and Ministry of Education. It is mandatory for all members of staff and students to wear a mask at all times. Hands must be sanitized upon entering the school and classrooms. All members of staff/students and visitors will have their temperature checked at the entrance to the school. Any person with a temperature of 37.2◦C or higher will not be allowed to enter the school.

What happens if a government legal notice is issued ordering the temporary closure of schools during my course?

If the school has to close during your course, lessons will be held online instead of face-to-face. Details of how to access your online classes will be sent to the email address that you had provided when you started school.

Do I have to wear a face mask at school?

All students, teachers and members of staff must wear a face mask in the classrooms and in the common areas of the school and accommodation. Face masks must be worn properly and cover the nose, mouth & chin.

Does the school provide hand sanitizer in the classroom?

Hand sanitizer is provided by the school and is found outside all classrooms. Students must sanitize their hands upon entering the school and their classroom.

How often are the classrooms cleaned?

The classrooms are cleaned on a daily basis.

Can I attend school if I am feeling unwell?

Any student who feels unwell will be not allowed to attend school. Students who have COVID 19 symptoms must book a COVID 19 test immediately. Tests can be booked by either calling 111 or +356 21324086 if you have a foreign number. You can also book it through an online booking portal by following this link https://covidtest.gov.mt/ Students with COVID 19 symptoms will only be allowed to return to school when they have received their negative test result.

How will my first day in Malta be affected by COVID-19 precautions?

Due to current COVID restrictions, in order to take a taxi / school pre-booked arrival transfer, you would need to exit the airport entrance and follow the required signage. Masks need to be worn at all times in public areas including public transportation. Students will be sent a link to our online placement test before starting their course. Once they have completed the test our Reservations Team will inform them of their class schedule, classroom number and level they have been placed into according to the results of their test. We are not currently organising our Welcome / Orientation meeting. Important information may be found on our Reception Notice board of provided by our reception staff.

What happens if I get symptoms of COVID-19 when I am in Malta?

What happens if I need to self-isolate because I have come into contact with someone who has Covid-19?

Anyone who has been in contact with a Covid-19 positive case should contact the Public Health Helpline on 111 or +356 21324086 if you have a foreign number and follow instructions given by the health authorities. If you need to self-isolate, we offer assistance with the purchase of groceries and other essentials.

If I test positive prior to my departure from Malta, what steps should I follow?

In such case you would need to follow the instructions given by the health authorities. If you need to self-isolate, you may do so at our school residence, subject to availability. The accommodation charges will apply according to our price list.

How will I be cared for if I test positive for Covid-19?

If you test positive for Covid-19 the Management will contact the Health Authorities to seek guidance in order to best assist you. Is Host Family accommodation available at the moment?

Some families are hosting students, subject to availability at the time of booking.

What happens if a member of my host family tests positive during my stay?

Your host will assist you in contacting the tracing department within the Health Authorities to seek necessary guidance in terms of steps you would need to follow.

How can I book a PCR swab test in Malta?

To book your swab test you would need to call the Public Health Helpline on 111 or +356 21324086 if you have a foreign number. The operators will take note of your personal details and you will be given an appointment to undergo this test closest to your place of residence in one of the testing centres around Malta. Alternatively you can register online for a swab test by going to https://covidtest.gov.mt ​ and filling in an online form. You will be called back from the Public Health Helpline on the mobile or landline number which you provided and you will be given an appointment for a swab test. Online applicants will be required to provide and verify a valid email address. The result of the swab test will be sent to this email address soon after it is issued. Where can I be tested?

There are several different testing centres in Malta. The Public Health Helpline will book you in the centre closest to your residence.

How long in advance do I have to make an appointment for a PCR Test?

The earlier the better since it may take a few days to get an appointment.

Is there any cost for the PCR test?

During your stay in Malta if you are feeling unwell or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive, you can book your PCR test free of charge through the Public Health Helpline/Online Website.  The PCR Swab Test prior to departure from Malta cannot be booked at a Government Centre and must be arranged at a private clinic which incurs a cost.

Do I need to show a negative COVID PCR test upon arrival in Malta?

Is it safe to travel to Malta?

How long does it take to receive the result of a PCR test?

Public Health provides results by email, SMS or a landline phone call within 72 hours as stated on the government website.

Will I be allowed to re-enter Malta if I decide to travel to another country during my course?

Do I have to be vaccinated against COVID 19 to travel to Malta to attend my course?

Yes this is a mandatory requirement.

What happens if I have to quarantine on arrival in Malta?

Will I be able to travel around Malta during my stay?

A weekly social activity programme is available and students may book subject to availability at reception. You may also discover Malta individually or in a small group provided that the number of people in the group does not exceed the number stipulated by the local authorities.

Can the school provide me with travel documents before my course starts so that I can travel to Malta?

We can provide students with a School Letter of Acceptance once full payment has been received.

Will you be accepting students under the age of 18?

We are accepting 16 & 17 year olds for General English Courses, as long as a signed parental consent form is provided. Students younger than 16 are accepted for Tailor Made Courses if they are travelling with a parent / legal guardian or a group leader.

What is the refund policy if my travel plans need to change due to COVID-19 restrictions or if I test positive prior to arrival?

If you cancel your booking 10 days or more prior to your arrival, no cancellation fees will apply. If you cancel 9 days or less prior to your arrival, a cancellation fee of 150Eur will apply, together with charges for services already consumed. Any refunds except non refundable items will be given in a form of a Credit Note.

What is the refund policy if I need to depart prematurely?
